Medium (514 km) drive to Tenant Creek. Morning tea at Aileron Roadhouse (named by airplane lover for local name Alyuen.) Skipped Ti Tree Roadhouse and fueled at Barrow Creek Roadhouse. Funny place with lots of money and other stuff stuck to the walls. Lots and lots of stuff. Had a ham and cheese sandwich appropriate to the Centre: old and arid. Barrow Creek was the centre of the Peter Falconio outback backpacker murder mystery. Suitable ambience.
Got a nice caravan site at Tenant Creek. The town's a bit rough but I found the pub OK. Met locals Monica and Davo who warned of the 11 new cops to make up the 40 who man the local police station. Tenant Creek has a population of about 3000. Imagine 40 cops at Rosedale or Toongabbie. I can't.
