Had a nice day planned: 1. Visit the Museum. 2. Visit the hot springs. 3. Have a quiet rest of the day.
Pam inserted another step, prior to the agreed step 1 : Have a walk along the river and back through the town.
Pam-the-map-reader committed one small oversight: The map had no scale. The walk was over 10 km. and took 2.5 hours.
Marriage is about sharing these events however. I've recorded our entire conversation during the second half of the walk-a-thon:
Pam: "Want to stop for a few minutes?"
Me: "No."
My imagined conversation between Pam (who has the role of planning the expedition) and Charles Sturt:
"Camels? water? No, we won't need camels and water. It's ony a small desert on the map."
Visited the museum. Gave the hot springs a miss.
Because everything was clearly Pam's fault, she had to pose smiling in front of old boring broken rusty stuff at the museum, in the hot sun, with blisters on her feet, and not complain at all.
We've decided to stay another day.
