Day 27, 28 July 2009, Darwin

We had a shopping/ coffee visit to Darwin CBD and a pleasant drive through the town. Darwin's a really nice town with gently winding roads; obviously well planned and rebuilt after Cyclone Tracy.

We visited the main museum which has a section about the town, a maritime section and another with Aboriginal art. We finished in the cafeteria, but decided that $9 for a salad sandwich was a bit much, so we had our lunch in the caravan. Our days are full of these weighty decisions.

The resort has three pools. I had randomly selected the one next to the bar. The sequence goes: Get warm; have a dip in the pool; get out; sit in a nice chair; dry off; get warm; go to the bar; get a beer; drink the beer; get warm; have a dip in the pool;... I think you get the idea.

In the late afternoon, we can cook in the caravan, use one of several barbecues or use one of the camp kitchens. It's really good value for $28 per day. (Slightly more on weekends.)
