Day 9: 10/07/2009 Yulara resort

Drove up to the National Park entrance and paid a meagre $25 each for entry. Had a demonstration of Pitjantjatjara crafts, spear throwing etc. The interpreter, naturally, was a young Japanese girl. Beautiful walks half-way around the base of the Rock. Though everyone is so familiar with Ayers Rock, to actually be there is awe-inspiring. Saw dingo walking near our caravan each night in the evening. Pat and I are becoming fit from the walking.
Although we did not have power, the resort was excellent, with large covered areas containing power points, fridge, tv, where people could charge things, and hang out for a chat and a barbeque.

Took amazing, never before seen photos of The Rock at sunset. Really, ours are different from any others you've ever seen.

  1. Wonderful, wonderful. I was thinking...the next time I come (assuming you ask me again) maybe I will ask Wendy if she would like to go up here with me...or anybody you know who would like to.
