One day stop at Katherine before heading off to Kununurra (pronunced 'Kununurra').
Domestic stuff, laundry etc. The trip odometer turned through 6666.66 km. I, of course, found this fascinating. What's surprising is that Pam did too. I started to think that she may be spending too much time in a car with me. I was reassured though, when I showed her that the odometer turning through 6789.01 (a cyclic permutation of the first 8 digits) she told me to shut up.
Went for another delightful dip in the springs, Pam slid down little falls into pool through millions of tiny bubbles (does not miss work at present). Dinner at Barra Cafe (had barra and chips) - tremendous murals of the Katherine area, quite remarkable.

Many google defns for Bara; from context I'd say maybe this is what you had: Aboriginal name for any of several types of large Australian freshwater fish, particularly those found in northern Australia.
