Arrived in Kununarra after short (375 km.) drive from Katherine.
Crossing the WA border we had to surrender all fruit, vegies and honey to the border guards. They're either very strict on quarantine in WA or the fruit/ vegie growers and beekeepers unions are very strong.
We have gotten so slack we hadn't contacted Dan Raymond prior to our arrival, so we've booked into a caravan park for the night. They have a funny but very friendly system where a bloke on a golf cart drives you around the park to select your site. We got exactly what we wanted.
Except...The Moscow Circus had come to town and had set up across the fence from us. (My obviously limited powers of observation failed to notice a white and red circus tent the size and shape of the Kremlin.) We've been following the MC (without their knowledge) since Alice Springs. They performed at Tenant Creek, Mataranka, Katherine, Darwin and now Kununurra. We'll have to attend. At Mataranka the caravan park attendant told us they were offering the circus free accomodation in exchange for a performance. The circus people are not that silly and the performers enjoyed their obviously well-earned night off.
Pam and I remembered taking Elizabeth to Ashton's Circus on a stinking hot day in Traralgon when she was about two weeks old. Missed out on 'Parents Of The Year' again that year.
