Day 42, 12 August 2009, Broome

Lazy day in Broome. Picked up our mail (thanks Cheryl) and mailed Dan's phonebook back to him. (We had accidently pinched it.)

Pam had her hair done (and it looks lovely) and I played chicken with a road train.

I was looking for a car wash to get rid of the red dust, and missed a turn. I wound up down at the port area and stopped to look at the map. I heard a really loud horn behind me. I looked in the rearvision morror and saw the bottom of the radiator of a huge prime mover waiting for me to get out of the way. I moved ahead and saw the prime mover and the first petrol tank go past. The second one went by, but quite close to the driver's side of my car. The third one came even closer and I couldn't help but notice that there was a fourth. That one, I'm pretty sure, would have gone straight over the top of my car.

I don't imagine the road train driver would have felt a thing. Me neither, come to think of it.

The ony major thing we've acomplished today is to book into the Moscow Circus for tomorrow night.

  1. Pat...aren't you forgetting that Pam had her hair done? - surely that qualifies for a major thing.
