Nice straight drive from Esperance through Norseman, the start of the Nullarbor.
At Norseman, named for a gold-finding horse, (he dug it up) I set ‘Little Bitchy’ to plot a course for home. Her first instruction? “Continue driving 1200 kilometres.” She (I mean it) didn’t even tell me which way I was going to have to turn!
We’re staying at the Balladonia Road House Caravan Park, noted for being the place where a large chunk of Skylab landed. Some landed at Esperance as well, with publicity stating that the town fined the NASA $400 for littering, which apparently was paid.
Weather strangely warm, flies busy. Arrived by 1.30pm, took peaceful afternoon. Pam planned a walk, lay on bed instead, ate chocolate bar, nowhere really to walk. No water here for vans, also no telly, phone, newspaper BUT there is a bar.
Still a long way to go on “Australia’s Great Road Journey.”

I was wondering what you do when you miss everybody.
ReplyDeleteStrangely the blog helps us feel connected, when I say "we", I mean me, Pat is happy as a pig in its element. Then there's email, and giant bill-provoking phone conversations.
ReplyDeleteI was once found staring at a photo of Matilda on my laptop.
Pam
HAVING AN AWESOME TIME IN EUROPE AND MISSING SOME OF YOUR BLOGS WILL CATCH UP AT HOME HUGS jULIE
ReplyDeleteE'd you a photo of the never-complying dogs, Pam. But tell the truth, Pat, pig-happy tho you are? What do you do when the pangs for home hit?
ReplyDeleteI imagine you are across the Nullabor by now unless you stopped to enjoy the scenery. I don't remember much about going across except the dirt road. We did stop in Ceduna on the way back after a couple of days on the bus without stopping because we were running behind schedule. Hope the last days of the trip go well.
