Lazy day looking at Alice Springs. Sat in Todd Mall, had coffee and visited Woolies and other esoteric places.
Muscles were happy to have light duty, after proud-making effort at King's Canyon. Many Aboriginal art galleries, which Pam examined closely. Pat went on special men's shopping business: he had packed two pairs of bright blue bathers, but no shorts. Better than when we went to the States at this time of year, and he packed no shorts or bathers (photographed at Grand Canyon in jeans and plaid shirt, in 90 F.) Pat returned with one pair of pale coloured shorts. We are in the so-called red centre. Shorts will soon change colour.

Pat! Remind you of our father's sartorial dudeness, nice for an old Irishman. Young Bob Drake said he got a winter topcoat of Dad's when his folks were closing the house in Milwaukee; great coat, Bob said.
